Give Your Home A Contemporary Look With Flex Track Lighting
It wasn't until the remodeling on our home was finished that we discovered the importance of lighting to convey a mood. We stepped back and took a look at our newly renovated kitchen and dining room and felt that something was missing. We'd spent so much time on decisions like countertop, appliances and cabinets, paint, carpeting and furniture, that we completely forgot about lighting. After doing much looking we decided to use flex track lighting in our kitchen and dining room.
We liked the idea of this because it's extremely flexible, and flexible in a number of ways. There are many different track systems and kits available on the market, so you'll find the perfect one to meet your needs. Whether you want task lights, as I did in the kitchen, or if you want to add an expensive designer element, low voltage contemporary lighting is the way to go. We also liked the fact that these low voltage systems are energy efficient too.
You can choose from a wide range of styles from hanging pendant to monorail halogen lights. You'll find a wide variety of finishes too. We used chrome in our kitchen and brushed nickel in our dining room. We also had the choice of antique bronze and gold too.
We liked the idea that the rail could be curved to give it a modern and custom look to fit in our kitchen and dining room. We chose a kit system that had everything we'd need. We chose bendable metallic track in a 4 foot and a 6 foot length for the kitchen, and two 4 foot bendable systems for the dining room. In our kitchen we're using a combination of monorail tech and Martini Glass pendants, and in our dining room we're using matching pendant fixtures.
When you go into your local home store, or if you do an online search you'll be amazed at all the different types of lighting available from different companies such as Kohler, Philips, Thomas, Hinkley, Hampton Bay, Prima and Lithonia.
We took our time and carefully followed the directions for installation. My brother-in-law came over and gave us a hand. It wasn't as difficult as you might think. We like the way the monorail system looks, it gives a modern feel to our newly renovated rooms, just what we wanted.

I think this flex lighting is just what we need in our kitchen. We just finished remodeling it and it doesn't look like we expected.
